About EquineSiteGallery.com
EquineSiteGallery.com is a collection of horsey-stuff - plain and simple. It started out as a small collection of photographs (mostly horse photos) which users of the EquineSite.com Bulletin Board wanted to share with each other. It has since evolved into a large collection of photos, and barn plans, and legal documents, and recipes, and lots of other neat stuff. For some time, these pages lived in two private web-spaces owned by a couple of users on the BB (BensBud and HBee). It only took about a year for the Gallery to out-grow the space provided in these little Web-areas. In late February, 2003, I (BensBud) found an Internet Web Hosting company (www.ipowerweb.com) which has a great package providing lots of storage space, lots of web-traffic and a bunch of other neat bells and whistles. Along with their package comes a free domain name. It seemed like a good opportunity to create a for-real web presence for the Gallery. After checking with the owner of our Bulletin Board's web site to be sure she had no objections, I registered the name EquineSiteGallery.com. It just seemed like a logical progression.
Part of the transition involved a major overhaul of the file structure of the Gallery. I have been very careful, but there was a lot of work, and it's possible I missed something or messed something up. If you notice a broken link or a photo that doesn't come up that seems as though it should ... or anything else wrong or quirky, please send me an email so I can fix it.
So here we are - a bona fide Web Site containing photos, ideas, plans and all kinds of other neat stuff - still growing. Our "web-ops" reports tell us that we've shared our photos with people from all over the world including:
COM US Commercial
NET Network
ORG Non-Profit
EDU US Educational
AU Australia
MIL US Military
FR France
NZ New Zealand
US United States
ARPA Old style Arpanet
CA Canada
DK Denmark
DO Dominican Republic
GOV US Government
SE Sweden
We all hope you enjoy the Gallery - and we hope you'll share too. The more the merrier.
July 25, 2003: I've finally had it with the mountains of junk I get in my email inbox. I'm implementing a major change to my inbox filter. From now on, all email will be assumed to be SPAM, unless it's on a list of approved folks or subjects.
From now on, if you are sending me email, you should put the word "EquineSiteGallery" (all one word, no quotation marks, capitals don't matter) in the subject line. That's a magic code to get through the draconian filter I've applied. So a subject line like this will get through:
Photos for the Gallery from JumpingThroughHoops --- EquineSiteGallery
If you are not a one-time sender (ie: if we are changing your Gallery Page or adding a new one for you), I will add your email address to the "trusted senders" list. Of course, if you change email address, you'll need to use the "secret code" to get email through to me again until I can change your entry in the list.
Sorry if this is inconvenient, but the SPAM is just out of control... :-/
