Our trip to Virginia resulted in a surprise.  This is Sprite's sire, "Keeper", an 8 y.o. Mountain Pleasure/Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse (now gelding).  We decided to bring him back with us - to stay!  He and Rusty have really hit it off.
"Fluffy Bunny Meets The Cupcake": our mighty palominos have been nicknamed by our friends! Surely this will strike fear in everyone's hearts...  Son and father meeting up for the first time in 9 months.
At the new barn, Sprite and Keeper are turned out together for the first time.
A little "father & son talk" over some nice hay...
Sprite checks out the paddock (at a trot), as Keeper gaits alongside.  There are three others in an adjacent paddock - a ShireX, a Morgan, and a donkey.  Field is still too wet for pasture turnout.
Me and Sprite over Labor Day weekend, still in Virginia and getting ready for a trail ride before heading home. I am trying to 'dance on air'....!
This is Woodwind Sundancer, one of our breeders' senior stallions. He is a Mountain Pleasure Horse, 7 years old, and has been a wonderful ambassador for the mountain breeds at several horse expos.  No slouch, he is exceptional under saddle, on the ground, and has been used by Don West as a last minute fill-in when his demo horse was unavailable!
This is our new Kentucky Mountain Saddle Horse, "Sprite".  He is 3 1/2, stands 14.3, and was bred and trained at Woodwind Farms in Virginia. His willingness, calm disposition, and overall dependability is fantastic!  Not to mention the incredible gait
Sprite's sire, "Woodwind Keeper", 1996 MPHA/KMSA standing at Woodwind Farms.  He puts beautiful gait on his get, as well as passing along the friendly, agreeable disposition so typical of the mountain horse breeds.

This is my husband and his horse, "Zeus". Just a little pasture visit - (August 2002)
This is about the best photo you'll ever see of me! My husband, Rusty, is holding Atlas, and I am making sure our grandson, Rhys (2 1/2 in this 8/02 shot), won't slid off ol' Atty-Butt.
Sprite as a sprout with mom Ginger.
Don't you love the expression on his little face?

Sprite as a 2 y.o. - check out those dapples. Nice balance. This shot caught my eye on their website, but at that time someone else was supposedly buying him. Still, I figured there had to be others of similar type. I was correct - but never thought I'd actually have the chance to buy HIM!
